Last updated: September 21, 2026. Caboose ("we", "us") is operated by Island Global Company. This page explains what information we collect when you use this site, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Information you give us. If you email us (for example to suggest a car), we keep your message and email address so we can reply. We do not run accounts, and we never ask for payment details.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider (Vercel) records standard server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested, referring page and timestamps — to keep the site running and secure. We may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand which pages are popular. We do not build individual profiles.

Search and filter choices you make on the Browse page are carried in the page address only; we do not store them.

Cookies and affiliate tracking

Caboose itself sets no advertising cookies. Some links on the site are affiliate links through networks such as Commission Junction (CJ) and partners such as CARFAX, Edmunds, Tire Rack and others. When you click one of these links, the network may set a cookie on your browser so that the partner can credit us with a commission if you buy something. These cookies are governed by the network's and partner's own privacy policies (for CJ, see cj.com/legal/privacy-web). We pass the partner a non-identifying label describing which car page you came from — never your name, email or IP address.

Car listings and photos are provided by CarGurus, and vehicle history reports by CARFAX; when you click through to them you are subject to their privacy policies.

How we use information

To operate, secure and improve the site; to respond when you contact us; to measure which cars and pages are useful; and to earn affiliate commissions that fund the site. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers named above, or when required by law.

Your choices

You can block or clear cookies in your browser at any time; the site works without them. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email info@island.direct and we will respond within 30 days. California and EU/UK residents have additional rights under the CCPA and GDPR, which you can exercise through the same address.

Children

The site is intended for adults shopping for vehicles and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
